Joseph H. Tipograph has managed cyber-security crises for some of the largest companies by leading round-the-clock surveillance operations, coordinating with investigators, developing legal and media response strategies and keeping clients apprised of data hacking incidents and methodologies. Through this experience, he is familiar with a variety of techniques employed by hackers to penetrate data security firewalls or otherwise frustrate operations including SQL injections, social engineering, DDOS attacks and other unauthorized possession and sharing of confidential business documents.

Tipograph has also drafted a variety of telecommunication privacy documents including information-sharing agreements, non-disclosure agreements and data breach response plans. He has written articles on the topics of privacy and data security, with an emphasis on the Federal Trade Commission’s enforcement in these fields.
